Thursday meeting of Berkeley Liberation Radio

Tuesdays 1-4pm KPFA Friday morning DJ has shift

Agenda

Rearrangement

FCC visit

Scheduling

Tech

Fund raising/outreach

SFLR court case went against them, FCC may be reacting to that decision

DJ has NAL, addressed to occupant

Another DJ warns that the FCC has used subterfuge by pretending to be the next DJ, and thereby getting the broadcasting DJ to open up.

Currently, there is no obstacle to passerby just walking in to studio.

The studio has no consistent security procedure.

It’s unrealistic to expect the house to close its doors.

Advisement: Lock door after you if there is no DJ after you.

There is no way to bring in interviewees through the house

We can still make the studio more livable by upgrading the paint with mildew resistant paint, by adding a carpet.

We have given tech guy $200 but do not have back-up transmitter. The current transmitter is fm, but there has been no other changes as far as we can see.

The second board was running into the wrong input on the board even though it was set up correctly Friday, March 9.

We will set up the components correctly and then make note of the connections so that they can be put back to the norm.

Solidarity with the People’s Park anniversary.

Board should be situated so that DJ can work board and watch the door.

7 collective members decided to get rid of loft after discussing it with the house. There were none opposed.

Training can be scheduled for times other than Saturday night.

regarding the removal of the loft, captn' fred notified me the day he planned to remove it, basically as last minute notice with it still being considered prior. Though i am to a degree supportive of renters fashioning their spaces to their needs, and can understand the desire to change something in the room, i informed him i will talk to the core group of the house.
well it turned out that a member thought it would change the integrity of the house and thought you all should goto a house meeting to state your case. I told this to fred and gave him the date of the meeting and when it came around noone from blr showed up. which is fine for honestly much of the 7 people who was probably there to decide to cut it down are the usual clowns clogging the allegeded meetings by talking over one another and not evolving. I always felt the meetings were the most obvious turn off in getting new blood in on the radio project. There is an advantage of having a loose organization but i can see why most people after getting a show don't goto meetings, or worse stop doing the radio altogether. You all can still attend hellarity meetings( that is if you can manage to not be disruptive) but as far as the removing the bed loft goes you will have to wait till house member steve returns in july from europe...you blew it. that is if you actually cared. Probably the best thing to do with your neurotic energy is to help get new shows on the air during the dead time and help the existing shows improve. By the way if the returning dj wanting a show is by any chance dr shabooboo have in mind that he is not only banned from blr for inciting violence, but banned from the long haul for harrassing a collective member there.

The meeting to which this comment refers is actually set for April 12th, tomorrow, though this comment went through only today.

Please clarify if the people who wanted to come to a meeting somehow missed the date!!

Hopefully, there has been some confusion and the topics of interest are still on the table!!!
